Manufacturing Sector

The sales value of Malaysia's manufacturing sector increased by 2.5% year-on-year to RM1.03 trillion for the first seven months of 2023.

During the same period, the number of employees rose by 1.7% to 2.34 million, while salaries and wages grew by 3.8% to RM56.6 billion. The sales value recorded by each worker showed marginal growth of 0.8%, amounting to RM441,255. The performance of the domestically-oriented industry remained encouraging, reaching 9.2% in July 2023 compared to 6.8% in June 2023.
