LEB Malaysia and Al-Azhar University Collaboration: Launching the Al-Azhar Women Leadership Award (AWLA)
LEB Malaysia is proud to announce its collaboration with the world-renowned Al-Azhar University, made possible through the valuable facilitation of AQLAM Malaysia. This partnership represents a significant milestone in the pursuit of empowering future leaders, particularly in the realm of women’s leadership and development.
The first outcome of this collaboration is the establishment of the Al-Azhar Women Leadership Award (AWLA), a programme designed to recognize, celebrate, and encourage the role of women as leaders in academic, social, and professional spheres. Rooted in the guiding principles of Al-Azhar’s centuries-old tradition of scholarship and moderation, AWLA aims to inspire a new generation of women to lead with vision, integrity, and compassion.
This initiative not only reflects LEB Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to creating meaningful global collaborations but also signals the beginning of a series of programmes with Al-Azhar University. Through AWLA and future projects, LEB Malaysia, in partnership with AQLAM Malaysia, seeks to bridge educational excellence with leadership development, fostering opportunities that resonate with the needs of the region and the wider world.
As this collaboration evolves, both institutions are committed to introducing further initiatives that will contribute to the development of ethical, resilient, and visionary leaders, ensuring that the legacy of Al-Azhar’s scholarly excellence continues to inspire impactful change globally.
Al-Azhar as a university and as a mosque has made great strides on the path of epistemological and cultural progress and the delivery of its tolerant message, which is the message of moderation, coexistence and peace, at the local, regional and global levels. - Grand Imam Ahmad al-Tayyeb
