The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) hosts its annual graduation ceremony during the month of April. This year was particularly uplifting as it not only marked the end of an arduous academic journey, but also the end of a gruesome global pandemic.
This year’s event saw more than 1,800 students arriving with pride in their caps and gowns, vibrating with excitement to celebrate the end-of-course ceremonies at the Paisley Campus and Paisley Abbey.
Dr. Lucy Meredith, Interim Principal and Vice-Chancellor, said: “It has been wonderful to celebrate graduations, acknowledging the hard work and dedication of our graduates, as they reach an incredibly significant milestone in their educational journey.
The hard work and determination they have shown to achieve their academic award is nothing short of inspirational and I wish each of them every success in the future.”
Among the Malaysian students present were YB Dato’ Seri M. Saravanan, a Member of Parliament and a former Minister of Human Resource Malaysia, Mr. Sharen Azli Alzalip, owner of law firm Sharen Alzalip & Co., as well as Mr. Zuhairi Che Din, Senior IT Analyst at Tenaga Nasional Berhad. They were conferred with Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the graduation ceremony.
