LEB Malaysia’s Collaboration with HRD Corp: Empowering Skills Development During the Pandemic
During the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, LEB Malaysia forged a meaningful collaboration with the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) under the Penjana HRDF Initiative. This strategic partnership was driven by the urgent need to provide Malaysians with access to professional training opportunities that could help them navigate uncertain job markets while upgrading their skills for future growth.
Through this initiative, LEB Malaysia successfully designed and delivered multiple programmes that catered to a wide range of participants across industries. The impact was significant: more than 1,500 individuals benefitted from these carefully curated professional courses, gaining new competencies to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving economy. In terms of scale and investment, the collaboration reflected a strong commitment to national workforce development, with a contract value exceeding RM 10 million. Beyond the numbers, however, the real achievement lay in the transformation of participants, many of whom leveraged the programme to reposition themselves for new career opportunities, entrepreneurial ventures, or career advancement within their existing organizations.
This collaboration between LEB Malaysia and HRD Corp underscored the importance of public-private partnerships in sustaining Malaysia’s talent ecosystem during crises. It also set a strong foundation for future cooperation aimed at delivering innovative training and development programmes aligned with national priorities and global industry trends.
